Join us as we get hands-on with the past, for this exclusive day-long workshop at the Centre for Experimental Archaeology and Material Culture (CEAMC) at University College Dublin.
Experimental archaeology uses replicas of archaeological objects to test archaeological hypotheses and generate additional data. It also allows us to engage in making and using objects from different periods in our past, providing insights into techniques, technologies and people.
We will have a day-long workshop at CEAMC on Friday 18th September, from 10:00am – 4:00pm, where Dr Brendan O’Neill and Dr Ryan Lash will lead us through the processes of casting an Early Bonze Age axe and making an early medieval stone carving. This is a wonderful and exclusive opportunity to get hands on with archaeological research, and it should be a fun and informative experience, and you get to keep whatever you create!
As this day-long event has two experts and requires materials, we ask for a contribution of just €25 to put towards covering the costs.
Due to the hands-on nature of the event and the requirement for close guidance from the instructors, this event is limited to just 14 therefore it is strictly members only, and only one ticket is available per person.
